:s odd. Well, as your elbows will be in contact with the ground. Make sure your upper arm is completely vertical, as if your forearms arent at 90degrees with your upper arm and thus the upper arm isnt vertical it may cause strain on the join. I would try doing it on different surfaces to see if that makes a difference. When you do it try rotating your wrists to see if it makes a difference. P.S Im not a doctor or anything Im merely guessing

where does it hurt in your arms? It shouldn’t hurt your arms at all.
most people start to shake at around 20-30seconds of holding that position and that probully the time to stop too

yeah core strength is the strength of the entire abdominal wall! after all the abdominal muscle is just one large muscle. you can use different exercises to place more emphasis on a certain part, but you cannot target specific areas as there is only one muscle there! i find that the three most useful exercises are basic crunches v-vups and the plank for me these exercises fatigue my abs and build strong core strength! but play around and see what works for you!

Hi
With “core strength” you mean general abdominal strength not targeting any specific area? Where is this “core strength” situated? Like “all over” the abdominal area?

how can i increase my ability to hold the plank for a longer time. my current personal best is 11 mins and 53 secs. i hold the record at my school, but not by much and i am striding to reach 14 mins but i just cant seem to beat my record.

thats because the plank can be considered an endurance exercise! if you think of it in weight lifting terms, you wouldnt do 30 mins steady state running to bulk up would you! but at the same time it is the perfect complement to the exercises you have listed below! the reverse crunch hanging leg raise and bicycle crunch may give you unrivalled definition but the plank will build incredible core strength which functionally is very important especially if you compete in any kind of sport!

Be aware, this is not a “six-pack” exercise. Its a core stability exercise which really, and i mean really helps people with bad posture (from sitting at a pc/ behind a car wheel for many years).

Yeah thing is, to much abs look butch on women so planks would be good for them to help strengthen the abs without causing that.
